Area Projections

Area projection data is derived from national datasets, so does not include variation in state or local construction data. Area growth scenarios are scaled based on US growth scenarios. At lower population levels, they may not reflect the type of construction that will occur in future years.

Physical Scope

Physical scope exclusions include Sitework, and Equipment & Furnishings. These estimates are limited to buildings, and do not include infrastructure impacts.

Life Cycle Stages

A5.1 (construction phase deconstruction/demolition), B1 (material use), B2 (maintenance), B3 (repair), B5 (refurbishment), B6 (operational energy), B7 (operational water), C1 (deconstruction/demolition), D1 (recovery, reuse, and recycling), and D2 (exported energy) are excluded.
